Hourleaf / Support

Help with Hourleaf.

Learn the everyday steps, fix common problems, and keep your records safe.

Before reinstalling

Open Settings → Data Management, save a backup to Files, and check that the file appears there. Do this before deleting or reinstalling Hourleaf.

iPhone

iOS 17 or later.

Apple Watch

watchOS 10 or later with the paired iPhone app.

Safe diagnostics

Never send notes, backups, or personal hour history to support.

01 / iPhone

Record and review an entry

  1. 1

Open Hourleaf and choose Service or Credit.

  2. 2

Select the date, hours, and minutes. Add a note only if it will help you later.

  3. 3

Save. A brief confirmation appears; History is the place to edit or delete a mistake.

02 / Apple Watch

Install and use the Watch companion

After installing Hourleaf on iPhone, open Apple's Watch app on iPhone. In My Watch, find Hourleaf under Available Apps and tap Install if it did not install automatically.

Open Hourleaf on the Watch. Choose Service or Credit, tap the hours field and rotate the Digital Crown, then tap the minutes field and rotate the Crown. Confirm the entry and check History on the iPhone.

If Hourleaf says it could not save, do not repeat the entry blindly. Check iPhone History first, then keep both devices unlocked and open Hourleaf once on each device before trying again.

03 / Siri

Add time with your voice

You can make two phrases: “Siri, record service” and “Siri, record credit.” Siri asks how long, then Hourleaf saves the entry.

Set up and test both phrases on the iPhone. On Apple Watch, use the Hourleaf watch app itself to add time; an iPhone-created shortcut may not run there.

Follow the plain-language voice guide

04 / Common issues

Troubleshoot without guessing

My previous data disappeared after an install

Do not delete the copy that still contains your records. Open that copy, save a backup to Files, restore it in the copy you want to keep, and check History before removing anything.

The Watch entry failed

Check iPhone History first. Then keep Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled, unlock both devices, open Hourleaf on iPhone and Watch, and try one small test entry. Send support only the visible error and software versions.

A reminder did not appear

Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Hourleaf and confirm notifications are allowed. Hourleaf schedules local reminders and cannot override Focus, notification summaries, or system delivery decisions.

What to include in a support email

Include the Hourleaf version, iOS/watchOS versions, the exact visible error, and what you tapped just before it appeared. Do not attach your backup, notes, reports, hour history, or Apple account details.
