Use Hourleaf on your watch or with your voice.

Choose one option below. You only need to set it up once, and the normal Add screen always remains available.

Install Hourleaf on Apple Watch

The watch app comes with Hourleaf. There is no second purchase and no separate account.

  1. 1

Make sure Hourleaf is already installed on the iPhone paired with your watch.

  2. 2

On the iPhone Home Screen, swipe down and type “Watch” in the search box. Open the Watch app.

  3. 3

Tap My Watch, then scroll down to Available Apps.

  4. 4

Find Hourleaf and tap Install. If Hourleaf is already listed under Installed on Apple Watch, you can skip this step.

  5. 5

On the watch, press the Digital Crown and open Hourleaf.

  6. 6

Choose Service or Credit. Tap hours and turn the Digital Crown, then tap minutes and turn it again. Check the time and confirm.

Add time by speaking to Siri

This creates two easy phrases. You will not need to say “Hourleaf” each time.

“Siri, record service”“Siri, record credit”

The Shortcuts app is made by Apple and is normally already on the iPhone. Hourleaf itself does not listen to or record your voice.

  1. 1

On the iPhone, open the Shortcuts app. If you cannot find it, swipe down on the Home Screen and search for “Shortcuts”.

  2. 2

Tap the plus button. In the action search box, type “Hourleaf”.

  3. 3

Choose “Record service”. In some versions, this action may appear as “Record time”.

  4. 4

Check the shortcut name at the top. It must say exactly “Record service”. If it says “Record time”, rename it, then tap Done.

  5. 5

Tap the new shortcut once. Say the duration when asked and allow the action if the iPhone asks for permission.

  6. 6

Repeat these steps with “Record credit”. Name it exactly “Record credit” and run it once.

  7. 7

Return to All Shortcuts and check that the two cards are named “Record service” and “Record credit”. Siri uses these exact names.

  8. 8

Now say: “Siri, record service.” Siri will ask for the duration and Hourleaf will save it.

Get the monthly report text

This shortcut only prepares text for you to check. It does not add or edit entries, and it never sends the report by itself.

“Siri, prepare report”
  1. 1

Open Shortcuts, tap the plus button, and search the actions for “Hourleaf”.

  2. 2

    Choose “Prepare monthly report”.

  3. 3

Leave Month empty for the current month, or tap Month and choose another month.

  4. 4

Name the shortcut “Prepare report”, then tap Done.

  5. 5

Run it once. Unlock the iPhone or use Face ID if asked. Hourleaf will show the report text without changing your records or sending anything.

If the watch cannot save

Check History on the iPhone first so you do not create the same entry twice. Keep both devices nearby, open Hourleaf once on each, and try again.

If Siri says the action is not allowed

Unlock the iPhone and tap the shortcut there once. Accept the question from iOS, then try the phrase again. You can always use the Hourleaf Watch app instead.
