Kiku Captions sends a chosen video for remote processing, keeps product analytics free of file content, and automatically expires server media and exports within 24 hours.

1. What this policy covers

This policy covers the Kiku Captions iPhone app and its use of KikuAI Automatic Subtitles. The general KikuAI Privacy Policy also covers account, payment, infrastructure-log, and website processing.

2. Data used for the requested service

  • The video you choose, its speech audio, optional Protected Terms, caption preview, timed SRT, and rendered MP4.
  • Your email address, one-time sign-in challenge, session, and shared KikuAI balance when you sign in for export.
  • Account job records such as job ID, status, measured duration, quoted and spent credits, and timestamps.

KikuAI does not store the source filename, media, transcript text, Protected Terms, signed job ticket, or output bytes in account history.

3. Remote processing

The source video goes to KikuAI's Hetzner worker. Extracted speech audio and optional Protected Terms go through KikuAI's private OmniRoute to Groq Whisper for transcription. Selected Russian segments that need punctuation may go through the same private route to Groq Qwen for punctuation-only restoration.

4. Product analytics

The app may send privacy-limited product events such as app opened, video accepted, preview completed, sample completed, export completed, or job failed. These events may include duration, segment count, quoted credits, and output format. They do not include email, filename, file content, media, caption text, Protected Terms, tokens, or account identifiers. The app sends these events through a separate cookie-free connection and does not link them to a KikuAI account.

5. Retention and your choices

Server copies of the source, extracted audio, preview, SRT, and rendered MP4 are deleted automatically within 24 hours. Files saved or shared from the iPhone remain where you place them until you delete them. You can stop an in-progress wait, remove local exports, sign out of the KikuAI account, or request account-data help by email.
